Ville Wahlbeck Leading WSOP Player of the Year Race

If you have been paying any attention at all this month to the 2009 World Series of Poker then you will have definitely heard of the name Ville Wahlbeck. Ville is a poker player who is from Finland and he has been making his mark felt at the poker tables in Vegas this month. As you know every poker player in Vegas this month is competing for the WSOP Player of the Year Award and currently Ville Wahlbeck leads the race.

Ville has already managed to cash in four $10K events already at the 2009 WSOP and out of those four events Wahlbeck has made the final table in three and finished first in one. All of this has helped Ville move up the leaderboard for the player of the year and it looks like he has an excellent shot at winning the award this year.

I’m sure Ville will be looking for an excellent performance in the Main Event this year, but the way he has been playing it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see him make the final table. Being awarded the player of the year in the World Series of Poker is one of the best accomplishments you can earn as a poker player and not very many have done it.

Over half of the events at this year’s WSOP are now underway and completed, but we’re all still waiting for the event of the year which is the Main Event which will be awesome this year. I can’t wait to see the total amount of players who take part in the event, but I have an idea it will be a very large number of players taking part.
