Thang Luu Defends Omaha Hi/Lo WSOP Bracelet In Event #3
The third event at this year’s World Series of Poker was history setting and it definitely was one of the best early tournaments thus far. Defending champion Thang Luu was playing good all tournament long and managed to win the entire tournament making him one of the only players to win back-to-back WSOP events.
The tournament was a $1.5K Omaha Hi/Lo Event which brought many of the best Omaha players in the world to the tables. The tournament fell just short of 1000 players as there were 918 when the tournament kicked off last week. Thang took home the WSOP bracelet and also the first place prize which was just over $260K.
Freddy Deeb made it deep into the event this year and finished in eighth place which was good for just over $25K which isn’t that bad for the investment involved. I’m sure we’ll see more of Freddy this year in the main event and I hope that he makes a push for the final table as it would be nice to see some old school faces make an appearance.
I can’t wait for the main event to kick off although we do have plenty of action to follow currently. There are about five tournaments running right now and a couple should be done today so I’ll make sure I let you know who wins.
