As you all know we’ve been waiting for the second bracelet winner to be crowned at the 2009 World Series of Poker and it happened last night. Event #2 this year was one of the biggest events we’re going to see and it was the $40K No Limit Holdem Event. The event featured many of the best poker players in the world as most were looking for some practice before the Main Event.
Most of the pro players ended up being knocked out early in day one which left only a few household poker names left in the event. By the time the event made it to day four and the final table there were only two pros left to take the title, but neither managed to win the event. Ted Forrest who started the final table without many chips was quickly knocked out of the event which left just Raymer.
Greg Raymer had a great tournament this week and was in contentions most of the time although when it came down to the end he finished in third place. After Raymer was knocked out of the event it left two players left to battle for the WSOP bracelet and prize money. The two players were Vitaly Lunkin and Isaac Haxton.
After a short time heads-up Vitaly won the event and took home the prize pool of just under two million dollars plus the WSOP bracelet. We’ll talk with all of you tomorrow once some of the other events have been completed.
