EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final Results

Over the past week many of the world’s best poker players were seen in Monte Carlo competing in the Grand Final of the European Poker Tour’s fifth season. The tournament broke the record for being the largest poker tournament played outside of Las Vegas which is quite the accomplishment. There were a total of 935 players who started the tournament, but only one survived to win the grand prize and the EPT Grand Final title.

With many of the best poker player’s competing in the event you would suspect that they would have had some presence on the final table, but that wasn’t the case this year. The final table consisted of a lot of unknown players and youngsters looking to make there mark on the poker world. The action all week was incredible and the final table didn’t disappoint either.

Most of the best poker players were knocked out early on including Phil Ivey, Peter Eastgate, Ivan Demidov, Phil Negreanu, Jennifer Rousso and many other players. Most of the players who were knocked out of the Grand Final early on competed in the 25K High Rollers Championship. The winner of the High Rollers Championship was Jennifer Rousso who won just over 700K.

Pieter de Korver was the winner of the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final and he won the first place prize of 2.3 million euros. Pieter has shown in the past that he could compete in long multi-table tournaments and his minimal experience helped him overcome a massive short stack. On the final table Pieter was down to only a few big blinds, but he continued grinding at the table and came back to win the entire tournament proving to everybody that you should never give up no matter how bad things look.

• Third Place – Mikhail Tulchinskiy

• Fourth Place – Dag Martin Mikkelsen

• Fifth Place – Eric Qu

• Sixth Place – Alem Shah

• Seventh Place – Daniel Zink

• Eighth Place – Peter Traply
