2009 WSOP News May 30th

With more events getting into the swing of things at the Rio in Vegas today I thought I would just do a little update post for everyone interested. The 2009 WSOP has already seen the first bracelet winner be crowned, but we’re still waiting for the second event to finish up.

The second event which as you already know is the $40K NLHE tournament is done to only a couple dozen players and will be finishing up today. Once the tournament is over I make sure that I update you all with who won the event. Some of the notable players still fighting for the nice payday in this event consist of Ted Forrest, Greg Raymer, Tony G and Andy Black.

Event #3 this year is the $1.5K Omaha Hi/Lo tournament which isn’t going to be featuring many pro players at all since it’s one of the lower buy-in events. The second day of the event will be played today and there are still plenty of players left in this event so I don’t see it being finished today.

The fourth event at the 2009 WSOP is the $1K NLHE event which will be filled with amateur poker players and always one of the best events to play in for most of us. I really like this event and I can’t wait to be able to go to Vegas one year and play in it. The first day needed to split up into two parts so the first part Day 1A is going to be played today with half of the playing field sitting down and playing poker.

That is all the WSOP news I have for you right now and as some of the events start to finish I will make sure I update everyone on who won the bracelets.

Awesome blog! If you could recommend threebooks on No Limit Holdem for a new player, which ones would you choose?
